I hope everyone's Christmas has been a good day, spent with family or friends. God blesses us with so much, shelter, clothing, food, and many things that are just things. Hug your loved ones and be grateful.
No, not after the meal. We left pretty much as soon as the table was cleared.
Actually he wanted to leave for Connie's earlier then I had planned so we got there nearly 2 hours before dinner. After watching a bit of "ELF", he decided it was time to go home. We managed to keep him waiting another hour for dinner by putting out some snacks. Food will keep his attention better then most anything else.
Red, I wonder if, for future times, you and he could discuss before you go what time you will probably leave. I have to do that, because DH doesn't want to leave once we get to one of the kids' house. Even though there are things that need to be done by a certain time once we get home.
We did discuss our leaving time. Problem is he didn't/won't remember what we discussed. He will deny any conversation that he has forgotten and he forgets them all. I haven't tried putting it in writing. Just not worth the effort.
Today I asked him what my name is. He 'suggested' Marissa, Gloria, Vera, Mary, Norma, (and even Charles, although I suspect he was trying to remember our son's name at the time.) Went back to Gloria. He seemed to like that one.
Finally he slipped into the den to check the mailings and came back with "Linnae". Got it right that time! Not much chance he will remember it next time I ask, though. He remembers he loves me and remembers he needs to keep me close. That's about as much as I can expect for now. Only one way to go from here.
