I planted four plants of green pepper, still small but doing okay.

I'll have to look for sweet pickle peppers next year, they sound good.

RustyHart glad to hear from you again. That's alot of Dahlias.

Weeded my garden some this morning and thought I'd wait until this evening to weed a bit more, but the sqeeters and biting flies changed my mind real fast :barnie

Hello Everybody......I haven't checked in for a while. I hope everyone is doing great and getting their gardens finished up. It's been drizzling on & off today so we won't be outside much. We do sure need the rain though. Dh has the garden planted and my brother just added some brussel sprouts this morning....yuck! Never liked those things and never will! Speaking of lettuce & spinach I noticed yesterday that those darn rabbits have been nibbling on mine. Seems like we have over abundance of the little critters this year. DH thought it was the chickens but when I looked at the damage (wasn't much) I noticed the leaves where actually nibbled down not pecked at like chickens tend to do. Needless to say we need to put some type of fence up. We had to fence in the sugar snaps & onions earlier this season.

Have a great day everyone!

The real use for "chicken wire" - bunny proofing.

That's what is surrounding my newest veggie garden. Got that plastic snow fence around the older one, that does pretty well keeping the critters out, too.

Welcome back to the group. :):)

Very breezy here today but so much nicer than the hot and humid 91 we had yesterday. We had half an inch of rain a couple days ago. Looks like some pop up t-storms across the northern tip but nothing here at the moment.

Welcome back M.sue :rainbow-sun

I have some plastic netting around my garden along with some barb wire fencing now.

86 degrees outside here right now....looks like the showers are going to pass by us :hit That means I'll have to go ahead and water the transplants tonight. I was so hopeing not to have to do that. I want to wait till the sun goes down and thats when alot of those biting insects come out. And man those little flies hurt when they bite :barnie On the inside of both my ankles I've had poison ivy or something the past couple of days. All blistered up now...itch itch and itch. And this heat sure doesn't help :he

I've got biting insects 24 hours a day. I guess them's the breaks for living in this lovely swamp! :p

They're talking a low of 41 for the next 2 nights!:( What's the chance of that coming with a frost do you think?

There aren't any warnings near me, but I've noticed sometimes in early spring or late fall they'll post a warning after dark which is pretty useless when it comes to covering plants.

I heard that we should bring in or cover the delicate plants. Heck all my baby plants are delicate! To many to cover so I'll have to keep the fingers crossed.

This cool weather today, high of 63 here, has done wonders for my poison whatever. :weee No itching!

Alpena and points north seem to have frost advisories. Not me, yet, and they've raised the predicted low from 41 to 46 which is good but that's Alpena's predicted low and they still have a frost warning. I've covered my beans and sort of covered my tomatoes, walls of water without the water, hose doesn't reach.

*sigh* :fl
