My low last night was -0.6 degrees. But it is sunny today and the temperature rose pretty quickly to hit 20 already. Looking for a high of 27 today, DH thinks it will hit 30 because of the sun. I say horse feathers. However, they are talking 41 tomorrow! Finally, proper March temperatures for this end of the mitten! :celebrate

GOOD MORNING CAMPERS!!! :rainbow-sun It's sunny outside, it's over 34 for a temp and supposed to hit 41, are we all happy and sun-shiny and raring to go? Anything gardening-y going on with you today? I want to get my lights set up for all the tomatoes I'll be planting shortly. It's too dangerous to walk outside without a hard hat. Large chunks of frozen snow are falling from the trees!

:celebrate I'm back, I'm back! Been without power since early Saturday am. The chicks being without the light have done ok. Had them in front of a large window to get lots of the sunrays. :coolsun I know what you mean Swapducks about dodging the ice chucks! Woke up this morning to a temp of 49 and that was at 6am! I was so excited about the electricity that I just couldn't stay in bed any longer :) The freezer meat is still frozen thanks to having a generater. Sill had to go and get water every day. You sure don't know how much water you really use until you have to go and get it!

Have a great day everyone because I know I will!

Glad your power is back, good to see you! Very glad you had a generator, we don't and I wonder why sometimes, but the last time we were without power longer than 24 hours was 5 years ago In winter, of course. I won't go into why I remember when it was but I do, and it was miserable. Had to keep a fire going in the fireplace but as it's on an outside wall it didn't really do much to warm the house up at all. Kept the pipes from freezing was about it.

We hit 44 yesterday and it's 45.1 now. Just checked the forecast and they raised it to 59! :woot So glad they changed tonight's forecast from snow to rain. I so do NOT want an 80% chance of snow!

:weee 57 outside here right now. Up in Rogers City today the temp read 62 when we were there. Had to replenish the milk, and of course Ice cream to go with the apple pie I made in the oven today that is electric. We used a camp stove and luckly we have a coffee pot that goes on top of the camp stove...perks and looks just like an electric coffee maker. Sent away a couple of years ago for. So glad we did,,,don't care to much for instant in this house. Melted lots and lots of snow over the wood stove for the animals :barnie That was a chore in itself. I SO LOVE ELECTRICITY :love Boy swampducks you have a great memory. I can hardly remember what happened last week.

We continued melting here last night and my snow covered walk to the coop is now an ice covered walk, totally the opposite of yours. Have to use my special boots with the hex head screws in the bottom. We hit 59.3 yesterday, it is now 34.3. There is some kind of crap coming this way, so it's probably best that I stay home since TSC has a lousy chick selection this week.

I have managed to scrape together one seed flat from a couple years ago so until I get to Alpena to buy more I can probably get a few things planted. Das, if I can grow tomatoes from seeds, you can, too. :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence Swampducks! I'm waiting also to go into Alpena to get my garden starters...I found a couple of trays, some potting soil in the barn already. WHEW...got that room cleaned! Now I can get it dirty with dirt! Temp is going down here..its 31 now at 3pm. I haven't been to TSC since chick days. Not wanting to go either! Have to keep telling myself "No MORE chicks!" Maybe next year..........

32 here. So much for the predicted high of 45. *snort*, got to 38 for a couple minutes but the wind has been pretty high. 25 tonight, 34 tomorrow and then 14 tomorrow night. Well I may not have gotten to Alpena today for pots and dirt and chicks but I did get to watch Ziggy play with a new puppy for a couple of hours. So not a total loss. Plus I found the missing button for the cute Christmas vest I made a few years ago, sewed it on, put on the vest and discovered it was too tight! Guess I'll have to make a new one because I discovered as I get older, the weight doesn't come off easily anymore! :barnie
