dw and i are staining the cabinets today.... first coat

so now the waiting game for it to dry, tomorrow we will do a light steel wool to it then apply the second coat.

Would a scotchbright pad be a better choice for oak than steel wool? Iron bits can get embedded in the wood and react with the tannins resulting in dark spots down the road. Just a thought! :)

a scotch bright pad is a good idea but it might take off more than we want, we will be using 000 steel wool <very fine>all we want is to remove any bubbles so the wood is smooth again so we can apply the 2nd and possible 3rd coats.

once lightly wooled will make a mixture of varnish and paint thinner<tack cloth> and wipe down the cabinets this will remove any loose particles...
