I hate pop corn ceilings, nothing easy about them. This house was built about the time they stopped using asbestos in popcorn ceilings. When we bought it I sent a sample off for testing, at least it came back negative for asbestos.
to me walls that are smooth are just asking for trouble at some future point. i painted this whole house when they first built it, plus i redid this room when the ex-step-dad took off and left it a mess with holes/marks in the walls. it's all egg shell white and stained cedar trim. which works great for reflected light but the walls and ceilings show any bit of any imperfections.
hopefully today we will get an estimate on replacing the laundry room floor, last saturday we went by and picked out the flooring and got a rough est, since i'm done painting time to get that done so i can finish with the trim work, then the dw can purchase her new washer/dryer set...
