I have not. Do I understand correctly, it was possible to communicate with an entire ocean as though it is a sentient being? How is that to "wrap one's head around??"I wonder, do you ever read "Solaris" Stanislaw Lem?
Oh hey! That is an idea in the social sciences! A person is sometimes capable of making a discovery, inventing some technology, by making a mistake. Or, coming to a mistaken notion.
The people become aware of something and think that they understand it. They begin to act on this assumption, however, they are mistaken. Whatever they observed, or thought they observed, is wrong. Too late! They are off trying to replicate this notion that they have.
It may prove to be a dead end. Or, it may not! Even in failure, people are often able to gain a better understanding of the workings of the world.
Somehow, this seems to me that they would be experiencing Serendipity .
