Well, here is my "NO CHICKENS!" husband feeding our newest chicks. Our first chickens he would call "Taco, Nuggets, etc..."

On Saturday afternoon he went out and said "Hi Girls" and they came right over to him. He had me pick something from the garden so he could give them something to eat.

So, never give up hope!!

Chickens will get to anyone sooner or later. They're such happy go lucky critters. :D

I agree! My son has turned into a softie where the chickens are concerned. He will even till a strip in their yard so they have fresh bugs, etc to scratch for.

Your son looks like the Pied Piper of chickens the way they follow him down that row.

Rebbetzin, if it's not their cute antics that get ya, it's the yummy fresh eggs! :)

Nice! My husband was the same way. He wanted goats or sheep....I laughed at him for that since he's always been a city boy...we got goats...he quickly lost interest and now I have goats. I wanted to get some chickens, and he said no. I kept quietly looking at chickens online. One day he caught me looking at a sale at one of the hatcheries. He stood behind me a minute, then said, "How long will it take them to start laying?" I told him about 5 months, watched him do some counting in his head, then he sighed and said, "Well, then you probably ought to get them now while it's early in the year." I almost fell out of my chair! Now he's the poultry man, he likes his birds! (Less so the last couple of months now that they have gotten over 6 months old with no eggs and are eating a lot of feed...) Every day he asks me after I feed "Any eggs? How many eggs? What color?"

By the way, I like your little chicken cage. I may need to build some of those!
Actually, my husband built the PVC stucture to keep the dogs out of my raised bed garden. But, over the years the pine trees in the backyard have made so much shade not much will grow in that area. Now it makes a perfect place for new chicks!!
