If you use stones, lay a quality landscaping cloth first.

I have found that weeds in rock are easy to remove UNLESS you use landscape cloth. When you use the cloth is gives those roots something to really hold on to and you can never get the darn things out!!!

chickens will eat the rocks. Don't know why put they love pea gravel.
