This is it's third year and it is very pretty this year. The hummers have discovered it and are feasting.

I was worried the hummers would ignore them b/c of the blue instead of a warm color, but no problems they found them. Carol they are worth the find for sure. Thistle they would be worth the effort to store the roots or try and collect seed or something like that.

They sell them as annuals here. They would be brilliant in a container.

Mine have survived as perennials for a few years in zone 4-5, but did die out after time. Could have been 2012, the year of the drought.

Oh wow! I thought they were zone 7 or 8. May have to pick one up next time I see one.

I got mine as a plant from a friend who was thinning her over populated beds.
