Mine are in a huge pot, they are doing well but they haven't started floweing yet. They are orange ones & the pot is a brown glazed oriental one so the combination looks rather good.

I intend to thin the clump soon, when is the best time of the year to do it?

I want to plant them in my front garden as it needs more colour. I shall be able to give the ones in the pot some of my great compost when there is a bit more room; they have been in the same pot for well over 10 years I do water them with "Jollop", my grandfather's recipe for manure, nettle & elder-leaf" tea". It's great stuff & I swear by it. :bow

I love your photos & wish I had some of the pink ones -- I must look for some over here.

Have a great weekend :happy_flower

Thanks beefy, I'll do that!

There must be about 60 plants in the pot; they are really so tightly packed you can't see any soil at all. I will be able to make a stunning display in my front garden (for next year). :D

Have a nice Sunday. :happy_flower

they have "roots" that sort of look like a clump of small carrots. if you want a plant just like the parent you have to divide or get a proliferation (prolif.=sometimes they grow babies on a stem). you can start daylilies from seeds of course but they wont necessarily be like the parent plant even if self fertilized.

that one was actually supposed to be a red daylily and i was kind of disappointed when it bloomed. everyone seems to like it except me, lol. maybe i'll register it for big moolah.
