I have a hunch I'm going to pay for it this Summer. I think it will be hot and dry. If we have to go on water rationing I can pretty much hang it up for the Summer.

I'm having almost no insect problems at all. The cabbage whites are normally around all year but I haven't seen any for quite a while. I do have a few of those gray cabbage aphids but the parasitic wasps seem to be keeping them in check. I'm thinking this unusual weather has thrown the insect cycles off.

I set out cabbage plants in the fall, got a few worms which got squished. No pests in the winter, and can start harvesting probably next month. Hope to have them all eaten up by the time the worms come back! I've tried spring planting, between the worms and heat, dismal failure. They may grow slower in the winter, but at least they grow.
