My first harvest!

I went out to break up some of the crusty on my radish mounds (you know, that hard surface soil). I read something about breaks it up or scoring it for root veggies... don't know why, just did it!

Anyways, I noticed a good amount of radish poking out of the ground and figured, well, its been about 5 weeks now. Some look much smaller, but I did a rotation by a week and thinned some down, so I guess one or 2 should be ready. Well they were!!! YUM!!!

That had to be the best radish I've ever had! So VERY spicy and a real kick.... did I mention MOIST, it was dripping liquid when I bit into it!!!!

I think I am really going to enjoy gardening my own food

As long as your other greens aren't coming on yet, don't forget to toss those radish greens in your food, too, steamed, stirfried or whatever w/ other veggies. And if you let a radish go to seed, you can have "radish beans". (Fun from head to toe, those little guys.)
