I went out to break up some of the crusty on my radish mounds (you know, that hard surface soil). I read something about breaks it up or scoring it for root veggies... don't know why, just did it!

Anyways, I noticed a good amount of radish poking out of the ground and figured, well, its been about 5 weeks now. Some look much smaller, but I did a rotation by a week and thinned some down, so I guess one or 2 should be ready. Well they were!!! YUM!!!

That had to be the best radish I've ever had! So VERY spicy and a real kick.... did I mention MOIST, it was dripping liquid when I bit into it!!!!

I think I am really going to enjoy gardening my own food :drool

As long as your other greens aren't coming on yet, don't forget to toss those radish greens in your food, too, steamed, stirfried or whatever w/ other veggies. And if you let a radish go to seed, you can have "radish beans". (Fun from head to toe, those little guys.:))
