@bobm there is actually a little dandelion in the garden that he carefully waters every time we're in the garden together. I don't have the heart to pull it. Dandelion wine maybe?

My grandsons love to pick the dandelion seeds and blow them into the wind. Just as I did when I was a kid. I smile at let them as my guts are churning with "Oh no more weeds to pull next time!"

I am proud to say that Mr. Helpful has proven himself trustable enough in plant identification that he can come weeding in the garden. He got as far as wrapping a hand around a pea, but stopped when I told him it was a good plant. Now he will weed along the border, stopping at each pea to say, "This good plant" and give it a pat before going on to yank out more weeds.

I'm very happy. :D

So today Alexii saw me picking and eating peas out of the garden and he said...

"I want to try some!"

So naturally, I said...

"Well these are garden peas. I can't possibly let you have any! They're too special!"

Mr. Helpful (determined) "I try some!!"

"Well, okay. You can try one."

Mr. Helpful: *picks a pea and gobbles it* "Mmm! I more!"

I didn't get any pictures, on account of I was trying to keep myself looking as neutral as possible, while my kid devoured fresh vegetables.

Amazing!

That's the way to rear veggie eaters.

My toddler son used to make me so angry when he walked all over and sat on the strawberries while he picked and ate peas fresh off the vine. Angry only because he could have picked the peas from the other side and while smushed strawberries are worthless, strawberry stains are the pits to remove from clothing.
