Thanks vfem. I put up a fence this year to keep out the ducks and dogs. I don't want to lose any more. But I can't keep life from happening so I was thinking about just ordering plants. Like from Abundant acres they grow a ton of stuff and I get a shipment from them in early April. So if their stuff looks good then I will order speciality stuff from them and then just get my jalapenos from the nursury. This will save me on a ton of work.
See, its early enough in the season there is always a rescue! Soon we'll be panicking over bugs and disease!!! :duc

Here they are for their 1st day in the south window. There were 2 more boxes I couldn't get in the picture. Some of these little guys are just to the point where they can't wait in the dark any longer. Others are just raising their curly heads. In all - 29 varieties of tomatoes :).

There's at least 1 of each and reason to expect a few more.

Today, I've got the "restart" seeds in soil. Really, there are just a couple that we can use more of . . . if nothing happens to these. (Big, IF.) Then, they will be the fall-back plants.

I'd trade them all for a toddler . . . .

My youngest was by today. The contractor asked her age - 21. Soon to graduate from college. She says, "And, never to go to school again!" Ha! What does she know? We've had her in school since she was 3 . . . had to find some way to save the seedlings from little fingers ;)!
