My herb garden

I converted my chicken coop into a garden shed and we're working on another smaller coop. I put my herb garden in front of the shed but I don't think it gets enough sunlight. I'm going to start on another one this fall next to the rose garden.

Very sweet - but you might be right about the sun. Most herbs grow best in the sun, as much sun as they can get. There are a few who prefer a bit of shade, like Sweet Cecily (Myrrhis odorata), but even that can take lots of sun if the soil is moist enough.

That turned out so cute! How long have those plants been in the ground? They don't look like they are suffering to me....What type of plant is that going up the trellis?

Lesa, they are honeysuckle and clematis. I put the plants in around the first to middle of April. My basil should be twice that big and it's a little yellow. The dill is doing great though - it gets more sun than the rest.

I live in that potting shed most of the time! I'm so proud of it. My dad and I built it together. The windows and the red door came out of my grandmother's old house that was torn down several years ago.

Unfortunatly, no. There is only about 2 feet between the fence and the shed - that's the south side (plenty of sun) the north side is shaded by my maple tree.
