@so lucky and @Smart Red don't feel so bad....... I got new floors a few years ago and we put down wood laminate all through the house. It looks so nice. Of course, you might not want to get new floors the way I did..... Anytime you come home after a hard day's work to water running out the front door and a river flowing down the street, it gives one a sense that it might just be a really BAAAAD evening. And when one goes inside to survey the carnage and finds caved in ceilings (because the dolts that built this house put the plumbing in the attic) it is yet another indication that the evening is going to crap real fast.

Getting called home because there is smoke rolling out of the kitchen wall/roof is about as bad. Fire contained to Kitchen structure, But smoke and water damage throughout entire house. The Silver Lining, All new drywall, paint, wallpaper, carpet and flooring. (That is a smell you'll never forget.) It is almost 7 years now.

Sheesh! I guess I'll have to be 'happy' with my pooh colored stain on my 37 year old vinyl flooring for a while longer. I certainly don't want flood nor fire as a reason to get new flooring.

Or

@MIchael Hibberd could mail his fine, aged flooring to south-est, central-est Wisconsin.

Ha ha!

I assure you I have plenty of those kind of stains myself!

Little update. the tomatoes and cucamelons are going nuts in the orangery this year. I seem to be trimming them every other day and boom! They're back again with the foliage. (In the foreground on the first image is a prolific vine, it's about 120 years old, or so i'm told).
