My plants vs. Nursery plants

I went to the nursery today to get some roma tomatoes since I didn't start those myself. The nursery's plants were a third of the size of mine. The plants I grew could get put in the ground tomorrow, the nursery plants can't be planted for at least a month. I started mine around the same time as they did, I asked when they planted theirs. I guess I should be proud of myself, right? Or did I kind of do something wrong, or did they? I didn't use any chemical fertilizers, only organic Garden-Tone. I feel like I have giant freak tomato plants!
