I would never do it again. Let someone else do all the work, would only buy already restored from now on
My brother purchased a 12 cylendar Jaguar many years ago. It needed lots of mechanical repairs , so he kept it his garage and worked on it whenever he could get parts as well as his time permmited. He drove it for several years with it's original black paint and had a blast doing it. Recently, he and his wife moved to another state, so he got a few quotes to have it repainted so that it would look very sharp and fetch top price. Low price just for the paint job was $16,000. He ended up selling it unpainted for the top price of $ 14,000. :th

Me too. @dickiebird , are you planning on a paint job?
No, I'm not going to paint, I will redo the interior and get mechanically sound & safe.
It's a 1963 that I will just keep as a survivor and a daily driver.
I think I've posted a pic of my current ride.
It's a 1951 Ford F-1 PU that originally belonged to my Pop.
