I got the variety pack that came with 2.5 pounds of 8 different varieties.

I got
La Ratte
Yukon Golds
Purple Viking
All Blue
All Red
Kerr's Pink
Red Gold
Australian Cresent

So now what? How many should I plant? Will they cross pollinate? Oh gosh this is just too much... too much...

Cross-pollination isn't a problem with the actual potato production, that's purely vegetative. If you were saving seeds then you would worry about cross-pollination. So plant away - how many pounds of each variety? That's a lot of potatoes!

I've just ordered potatoes for the first time! A friend and I are splitting them. This will be my first adventure with growing potatoes... :tools

I ordered the variety pack from Seed Savers Exchange. I am going to get them in the ground this weekend. But do I have to wait for eyes? Or can I plant without them?
