Carol, your dad had a gift, that string of fish you'd swear they were real if we hadn't been told otherwise. Funny thing my hubby didn't take up wood turning until after he retired, alas arthritis reared it's ugly head and he can't turn anymore but he turned some wonderful pieces.

Maybe we should start a thread showing members and their families hidden talents besides gardening of course .

I have a couple of pics of DS#2's carvings but not on my computer, I'll see if DH will scan them for me. Of course my pics don't do them justice, I'm just a point and shoot and keep my finger they turn out .

Well.... he had some help a few times. Mom was very talented as a painter. Sis and I may have painted a few too (I think I did the single bluegill!)

That's really something Carol Dee. I'm sure they are very treasured. I have a friend who took up wood carving when he retired also. He does old men characters mostly.

Kid#1 expressed an interest in wood carving, he thought it would be a good pass time on those slow winter days operating the lift. I bought him a good set of knives and some starter bass wood....I'm still waiting to see something he's created.

You mean, other than eating? Not so "hidden," right? (I have been thinking how to respond to @baymule 's diet thread. Need another serving of commitment ...)

Talents? I once asked the TEG community about important but unrecognized talents. One member said she could toss manure with a pitch fork with tremendous accuracy. I remember that . My own admission was skill at dragging a hose. Recently, I realized that I can fold clothes from every direction! ... I'm even working on how to fold a t-shirt from the wrong side out ..!

I wish that artistic talent was a part of my skills.
