I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you. Each year we have a crop that just totally fails on us, and we depend on something else to save us the frustration, and that sounds like what you are doing now.
I'll keep my lips zipped about my tomatoes.... but if it makes you feel better, I got pee wee corn and those tiny cobs I thought weren't done were. In the end the silk worms and ants got them first, the chickens second and we were left without a cob to hold!
I'm sure you'll get a few ripe ones to enjoy before its all over though.
