Witches broom is sort of a nickname for a disease that roses get. The term witches broom refers to the way the plant grows when infected. Soft, fast growing tall, red or bright green shoots with few thorns on them. It will live for several years with the virus, caused by a mite. The virus is called Rose Rosette disease. The flowers are deformed. The virus spreads to your other roses, so the professionals recommend destroying the infected one as soon as possible. There is no cure that I know of.
