Need a fast growing blooming vine

I am going to put up an archway over my foot bridge across the stream to my pasture. I thought and thought about what vining plant to grow there. I settled on hops because they are a very quick growing plant and because I like to be able to use everything I plant.

I like the idea of hops, if I can find them! I never heard of a passion vine!..or cardinal vine either! thats a very interesting looking one! Thanks for all the suggestions!

Morning Glories, Or How about Honeysuckle and/or Trumpet Vines?

I'm a clematis freak so I'd say go for those. A viticella type (I'd recommend Polish Spirit) would grow nice and tall and get very full in just a couple of years. Trumpet vines are pretty and attract hummingbirds, but I don't know if they can get invasive or not - never actually grew one here, just admired them in other people's yards!

great ideas. I think I will plant annuals alongside a perennial vine. Now, to find out what is available to me at the 'local' nursery 5 hours away! LOL

If you can find hops, it might fun. I enjoy mine- but I really wouldn't call it "fast growing", at least not here. It took a few years to really fill in on my fence (not sure for your climate). You originally asked for blooming- though hops does have a flower, it is green. So, if you were looking for showy, you might be disappointed. I think doing an annual and a perennial is a great idea. Can't wait to hear what you come up with!

Although introduced as a popular exotic ornamental in Victorian England, nonono and no...I'm from Georgia.

Annuals to try: Scarlet runner bean (hummingbirds), Moon flower vine (night bloom, fragrant), tropical stuff such as boganvilliea.
