Need help please with strawberry jam

I'm making strawberry jam this morning but I ran out of stick butter. Can I use the soft spread in the bowl or do I have to run to the store?

I woudnt I would use just canola oil if you have it or nothing the butter is to reduce foam so you will just have to skim a bit more

Thank you for your help! Canola it is then. I really don't want to deal with alot of foam.

I know, it sounds yummy! I found organic strawberry's at the store yesterday for 99 cents a quart!
So of course I couldn't pass that one up, you know?
