Need Ideas for Shade Garden

My MIL has done well with the Japanese Painted Ferns. They multiply themselves eventually too! (Still waiting on her to send some my way... )

How about rocks with moss and succulents growing on them? You can paint on moss where you want it to grow. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Moss-Graffiti-1/

Or some garden art or a sculpture? I'd love to make something like this...

I killed two columbines putting them in a very wet bed, so check all shade plants for water requirements. You probably have very good drainage, so also consider sedems and any succulents.
