Horse manure can be used four months after it's piled. Don't be discouraged if the bedding isn't all broken down. If there are pine shavings in it, THAT won't break down for YEARS, but it holds moisture next to your plants. As long as the bedding has stopped smelling like a horse, it won't burn your crops out. AND, fresh manure is great for roses, that love acidity. If you can turn it, it will decompose faster. Take it from somebody who moves a lot of the stuff!!
