Get 1/2"x1" rabbit wire for the bottom of the cage, don't use hardware cloth. The rabbit wire is smooth, the hardware cloth has a bump at every wire intersection and will give them sore hocks. The best cages are hanging wire cages, in a cool shed or covered area. The wood frame hutches collect poop in the corners and you have to clean them all the time. Look on craigslist for wire cages or in the free classified papers.

We are hoping to get a hutch together this week, but we are in the midst of a very severe storm potential (yay for Spring in Oklahoma), so with the "acquisition" being so unexpected and the storms a brewin' we were just trying to get them hunkered down with whatever we had on hand. I feel bad that it might be hurting them so this is our main priority. Oh.... and confession time.... I have never even been on CL, even though I've seen all the great scores TEG members have been getting.

You can get the wire and clamps and pliers, etc. at Tractor Supply to build your own wire cages to whatever size you need them.

I am hoping to run by there on my lunch break to see if I can get creative. :fl

After looking at the weather forecast today, I told my hubby I could never move to the Midwest. I think I would have a panic attack like every other day and never sleep! Prayers for everyone's safety and I'm hoping it won't be as bad as they're calling for.

I have lived in Southern Oklahoma/North Texas my entire laugh... I just don't know any different. Thank you for the prayers. I'm sure the entire area will need them. Usually it always hits towards central Oklahoma worse than it does in our part, but they have still forecasted (apparently that's not a word :idunno) us in the red.

Nyboy, I just do a general search when I'm in the area that I want. Is doing a search in the Antique, Farm, and garden better? I just thought every section would get searched according the the words I use in the search.

That's how I've been doing it too, for specific things I want. But I would browse by category, just to see what's out there.
