Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are in!! The basement is not finished, but the upstairs is, so we moved in last weekend and already had a little get-together with my family last night! All these years I've been waiting to have a nice place to entertain, and now I FINALLY do!!

We are planning on doing some kind of nicer looking pillars on the front porch, but the rest is done.

There's green grass!

The soil outdoors isn't ripped and gouged to shreds. There seems to be a nice view to go with the nice setting.

Indoors, it is spacious, too! Showers are important. Nice transition to the outdoors behind the house. Pillars to posts, Kate, you'll come up with something at the front door - you just need a moment to settle.

Beautiful!

:) Steve

edited: oh, i see that the porch is on the side of the house. is there a 3rd door? probably into the garage . . . are there steps down from that nice porch?

Steve, in the words of the guy who installed our applicances, it is a porch to nowhere. We do have an attached garage on the other side of the house.

Happy for you. Didn't know a porch had to go somewhere, learned something. I thought they were for relaxing, thinking, socializing, dreaming, remembering........

Beautiful place, setting

That looks great. Love the porch, and the wood floors in the living/dining area too. Have fun personalizing and making it "home."

Kate, I wonder if your appliance guy was Italian.

He might know that porch and portico are about the same words. We know that a portico leads somewhere.

Now, it could lead you where Seedcorn in talking about. That would be alright ;).

Steve
have i told you about my wardrobe? it doesn't lead to narnia but to another century. yeah.

How utterly wonderful! What a lovely home you have to enjoy for years and years to come... I love the beadboard ceiling on the porch!
