I absolutely CANNOT handle a tomato hornworm....(shudder) For a gal that can slaughter hogs, chickens and dig manure, getting grossed out by a tomato hornworm is more than a little incongruous. :idunno I pick them up with a stick and toss to the chickens.

Welcome to the forum, as you can see, we do get side tracked. High jacking threads is a rather common occurrence and leads to some interesting discussions. Glad to have you here. My husband is from Killen, Alabama, just outside of Florence. He's been in Texas long enough to be a Texan now, LOL.

North Alabama is pretty country.

What part of Texas are you in? I grew up in Savoy, near Sherman if you know where that is?

We are just north of Tyler, across I-20. Would you please put your general location in your avatar? it helps us all to get a location, with the different planting zones and such. How long have you been in Alabama? My husband is 74 and didn't see running water or electricity until his family moved from Killen to Florence when he was 11 years old. LOL
