Is s/he noisy like a cockatiel?
My kids had parakeets and a cockatiel, and that bird made me twitchy with it's constant squawking. After 2 years I gave it back to the friend who had given it to my boys.

Pretty bird! With no talking, I think you'll get to where you really enjoy having her around. Let's just hope he/she doesn't learn to type! If we get any weird messages on here, we'll know it wasn't you.

I have to keep my parakeets' wings clipped. They fly into the walls and hurt themselves otherwise. They grow back really fast, so I'm sure you'll have to clip them yourself before too long. Not much different than trimming a dog. ;) Helps to have a second person to hold the bird, so you can stretch out the wing and cut the long flight feathers. Look online for where to cut. They feel no pain, just annoyance that you've pestered them. :p

Can you tell a conure's sex by looking at the color of its noseband? Maybe if you take TT/DD to a pet shop or breeder, someone could help you. We must know! LOL.

Can only tell sex by crete color with parakeets. My vet will do DNA blood test, I am just waiting for TT-DD to settle in more before trip to vet.I have to shove in carrier, car ride, vet drawing blood want bird to trust me more before doing all that.

If you haven't figured it out yet, you can wrap them in a towel if you have to do something to them. Particularly cover their head. (beak)

He doesn't bite me anymore, some fool sticks their finger in cage thats another story. I said to a lady after she was bitten, if you where in bed and a hand come in your window, would you run over and shake it or attack it?
Great response
