Coins are often used in photography, fingers too. Somewhat strangely, a banana is used in some photo's ... kinda "a still life with banana".

Here's an idea that could be of varying colors, depending on the paper used - chads. You remember "chads" from the Florida paper ballots (year 2000) ... The small pieces of paper from a paper punch. Interestingly, there is a standard for holes punched in paper. It is 6 millimeters. That's .24 of an inch.
