No animals allowed in that room
Honestly, after seeing this photo, I wonder why you have been wasting money repairing that relic. It is better to replace when you have time to research for a good one. And I know you love a bargain, but find a good licensed plumber to give you un to date advice. Not one of your nephews, friend's, brother's best friend who once worked for a plumber.Probable older then me View attachment 24192View attachment 24193
An animal doesn't have to be in the same room for ammonia to enter the boiler room area. Happens on livstock farms and chicken and turkey houses all the time. Another possibility could be what happened on my ranch... an earwig got into the electric junction box , crawled between the contact points and shorted out the circuits. With the age and condition of this equipment, it may be advisable to replace that boiler as well as electric wires and plumbing completely. Would be depreceated for tax purposes too.No animals allowed in that room
I hear your pain jack , DW was doing dishes in bathroom for 3 weeks or more. We are just wrapping up our kitchen remodel, and it has been a pain. Besides the countertop installers and the propane guy there has only been two other guys in here helping on and off, and both were friends. Luckily for you there is an end to it. NYB I am sorry to hear you are still dealing with the hot water situation. Is the owner of the building responsible for some of the utilities, they have been collecting money from you for years. We are in the process of installing a new kitchen and I don't know which I miss the most, the sink or the dishwasher. We had the copper pipes replaced with PVC and they removed the sheetrock to get at the plumbing. We have not had a sink for over a week and it will be several more weeks before the sink and dishwasher can be installed. After the sheetrock is replaced they have to tape, spackle and paint. The cabinets will begin being installed next week, then the countertop people will measure for a template. We are looking at three or four weeks until the counter top is installed and at that point, the sink and dishwasher can be installed. The contents of the old cabinets are spread all over the house in boxes. We had to take delivery of the new cabinets, so we have 17 large boxes in the house in addition to the boxes already mentioned. Oh, did I mention the boxes with the new sink, dishwasher, disposal, faucet, wall tiles, microwave, and lighting? I forgot to mention having strangers in the house all day, hammering, banging, machine tool noises and whatnot. Theresa spends her days in the bedroom with the door closed, I spend my days downstairs in my sanctum sanctorum with my ham radios and computers. And, I can't find anything! Dear, where is this and where is that is heard constantly throughout the day. God, give me the strength to survive this project.
Like all things in life, this too shall pass. Then -- like childbirth -- you will quickly forget the pain and enjoy your new kitchen. Until that time . . .We are in the process of installing a new kitchen and I don't know which I miss the most, the sink or the dishwasher. God, give me the strength to survive this project.
