I have enough apples this year, including the root stock of the Johnathan Apple tree that I tried to straighten 3 years ago and snapped. I left the suckers and one took, so...8 apples---plenty on the two other apple trees left. I have about a dozen Bartlett Pears, I think the wind knocked most of them off, bc I swear I counted about 30 earlier this month.

Hoorary!!! Montmorency cherries have turned and will be harvested starting this weekend. I got enough for 8 pies last year and I'll bet I have MORE this year.

@Smart Red I don't know how old that tree is, but if you are seeing fruit it should be a female. The first year mine bore fruit it did not have much, but the second year it was covered. It's still not that big.

The tree has to be over ten years old. I know we planted it before I retired nine years ago. I seem to remember this being advertised as a self-fertile tree. I certainly wouldn't have gotten only one tree if male/female fertilization was needed.

Yup, MEADER Persimmon ordered from J. E. Miller Nurseries 6/14/05. That makes it 9 years old and fruiting for the first time. Meader was/is(?) the only American persimmon variety that is self-fertile. Yeah!
