Between me and @Smart Red , if it doesn't come back, we gotcha covered! She did send me one and so far, the heat hasn't killed my hostas. They are under the crepe myrtle tree. There is a gnarly oak in the front yard that is waiting for them about 160 miles north of here!

Dang deer!, sorry about your hostas @Nyboy.
When my hostas have been nibbled back hard late in the season they come back fine the next spring. It may help to mulch them, especially new plants, with a little fresh compost this time of year. I have also found that the plants mature faster if you cut the flower stalks before they bloom for a year or two.

Love that Fire Island hosta, very unique!
