You got me beat with the 3 children Natalie...lol Thanks for the links, sounds really good.Hope theirs some Red Roof Inns or Motel 6's around ...lol
The conference fees are reasonable and its great they throw in the meals. Cross Sound Ferry and motel/hotel accomadation at the peak of New England summer season can be very pricy...
I'll have to do a accomadation search and see if i can pull it all together with a hen sitter. That pretty cool that you have someone to watch your animals if you need to go someplace...! Thats not always so easy to find..! Thanks again.

Maybe it would help if you make a point of telling them they get to keep the eggs laid while you're gone.

Your welcome Kevin. There are some motels right on that street.
I know on the website last year they listed some motels and campgrounds in the immediate area and the motel was very reasonable, I want to say it was a Super 8 Motel.
I am sure Dean has either listed it again in the updated web page or he will shortly.
There is also a forum for people who are going to the conference where you can find out info, share rides and stuff like that.
I think you can find the link on the main page or the registration page but its there somewhere.
I agree, the price isn't bad considering the meals are figured into it as well as all the information you will get.
The food is all natural and served buffet style, catered by their family and friends.
Dean and Laurie banned all high fructose corn syrup from the meals.
The conference center has a lovely courtyard that we eat in and thats when you meet alot of people because everyone shares tables during meals.
Last year I had breakfast one morning with the editor of a beekeeping magazine from Sweden.
He knew and worked closely with Brother Adam and had some great stories to tell.
I think you would enjoy it, everyone is very down to earth and friendly.

Only a few short years ago I could go out to my garden on a sunny day and it seemed as if the whole garden was vibrating with the buzzing bees. Nowadays if I see five bees in the garden it's a time to rejoice.

Hoodat, I got my bees installed and they are doing fine, building comb and getting to work. I should have plenty of bees in my garden this year!

I saw some of them working my clover today and I hope that continues all summer/fall long. I planted lots and lots of red, white, and yellow clover for these gals.

I also planted 5 beds of flowers and scattered flowers throughout the garden this year. Lots of sunflowers, wildflowers, annuals and such. I also placed a bird bath in the center of the garden for their little thirsty selves.

I am bee-friending bees!!! :bee :bee :bee :bee :bee

I gave my bees another box to get to work in a couple weeks ago before we left on a trip. I'm going to open it up within a week and see what they have managed. There is lots and lots of activity on the landing pad whenever I look. Little bees packed with pollen!

I hear that Hoodat...! Thats what prompted to start beekeeping 4 yrs ago.I built my home in '89 and had a fairly good number of honeybees around. Each yr thereafter it seemed i was seeing fewer and fewer.By 2003-2004 they were becoming a rare sight around my yard..!
Nowadays,i see more and more people, locally taking up beekeeping, which is nice to see.Still, the poor girls have an uphill battle to survive and do well.

Bees in back yards are not allowed in my zone in San Diego. If they were I'd have a hive or two. I was hoping for some bumblers to show up for my squash blossoms but so far none. Nothing does the job on squash like the bumble bees.

Why don't you just have out some bubble bee houses?! That way the move in and stay and you treat them like birds with bird houses and not as you own them? You would get the pollination just no honey for your efforts. Still a good deal in my opinion!!!

Something like one of these I've seen on Etsy: Bee house
