Stink bugs have been replaced with hornworms. Killed 66 last night. Wonder what tonight holds in store?

This year tomato horn worms have been abundant but after we find them which isn't that easy, I toss them to my ducks they love them, baymule when you get moved you should get some ducks they will keep your snail population non existent and slugs and just about any other bug or creepy crawlie, except a hairy caterpiller they don't like them.

I HATE HORNWORMS!!!

@Miss Lizzie I have 3 runner ducks, 4 months old. I got them for layers. I ordered 17 pekins also, they went to freezer camp. Today, the runners finally figured out how to get on the deck for the first time. They kept peering through the patio glass doors at us, they were so funny!

Bay are your runners becoming more friendly ?
They figured out only a few days ago how to get on the deck and now amuse us by peering in at us. But friendly? Nope! They still think I am a 2 headed swamp monster!

Bermuda grass. :he . I include all of the above, but Bermuda grass is the worst.

For those having so many problems with the Jap beetles, I know what you're going through. They were my #1 pest, closely followed by grasshoppers. I keep hearing pros and cons about the beetle traps. Well let me tell ya how they would devastate my roses and every other flower before they even opened. I tried everything I could to control them, but nothing worked. So I broke down and got a trap. It was full and over following the next afternoon. I drowned them and fed them to the chickens & ducks. I set the trap up again and it was the same everyday for a week. Then it tapered off. By the end of the month, I only had a few in the bottom and had flowers blooming again.
:celebrate
Fast forward - The next year I only had to empty the trap twice and the following year only had a few in the bottom after the whole summer. I didn't even need to put a trap out after that. (Knock on wood)
