I think you must have some good soil because you also have pretty big bell in the background. I have not been able to grow very big bell in all my short gardening life.

i am having problems with the bells they are getting brown spots on them and then they start to rot.

Ohh i had that same exact problem last year with the peppers, i had a lot of nice ones that just rotten on the plant. The only thing i could think of that caused it was maybe too much moisture.
I'm interested in knowing why this happens?
It drived me crazy just to figure out what went wrong i hope someone can shine some light here.

The one on the left looks more like a Chantenay carrot.
If you like the nearly 3" at the shoulder carrot, plant Chantenay next year. That is all I grow because I have clay and shale soil and I also store them for winter. I get 3-4"shoulder and 7-8" long. Verrry sweet!
I get my seed from the local feedmill. It is the only variety that doesn't fork in stoney soil for me.
