No, actually I got my beans I first planted from Wifezilla. Only one sprouted and made it..... so I used that one to supply me with more beans!

Next time I'll just buy a bag from the store!!!

I planted from the store beans, they did fine!

My dad (deceased now) always said that anything store bought - such as dry beans or peas, dry corn (in animal feed), any bird seed, etc - which would not sprout (not viable) under proper conditions had also lost most of it's nutritional value.

ETA: I can't quote any scientific studies to back that up - as I haven't tried to find any. But his family were large farmers with dairy cattle, pasture/crop land, a fruit orchard, and market gardens for selling produce. His grandmother also raised house birds (mostly finches and parakeets). They surely knew something about seed and viable dry food stuffs.

i think it is ok to plant the dry beans, because my father did that before.
