Well, I'm not about to paint over her artwork. It's her birdhouse not mine. It's cute garden decor if nothing else. MIL's bluebird houses are all sky blue, and occupied, so we'll see.
Journey, if I painted everything to what is proper or should be, I'd be in trouble. Don't worry, that birdhouse is beautiful and artsy. Those darn birds can find somewhere else to live.
Are birds that particular? I have a bright red barn bird house that gets occupied every year. Of course it's just chickadees....maybe they didn't get the memo.
Don't worry about the house. It is the bluebird specific entrance hole and general shape that attracts a family. Movement attracts predators more than color or pictures. Aren't most predators color-blind? Birds, of course, are not color-blind but once something is established in their environment it is accepted and ignored. That is why I had to move my scarecrow each day. Left in the same place, it becomes a roosting spot.
