Rambling ... yes, I'm rambling ;). Those of a more direct, practical nature may as well stop here.

Maybe you once felt only sorry for the lone, all alone petunia - that found itself in an onion patch.

on-ly ... l-one ... all all-one ... one-yun

It comes into the world, a monocot. But, it doesn't clove. If you eat 1 raw, you may find yourself sitting alone on the bus ... union-ize!

I learned today that the word "onion" is from the word "one."

;)

The information was a source of inspiration ... misdirected, within a moment or two.

that's ok, many of my jokes bounce off the inside of my skull and make little/no sense to others. and of course, in explaining them you lose out on timing and such.

carrol and the gang were always great fun. :)

years ago, contemplating the meaning of integrity and such, what does such a thing mean to a complicated being (the human bean :) ). onions have layers, but only after a while of growing, at least those that form a bulb.

does that mean we also get layers as we get older? our outer layers only facets of the integral inner?

i'm more of the TMI type when writing, but in person much gets unsaid.

beans and onions are a good combination...

Being and onions, indeed.

We shall-ot not get too deep into the layers. Partly, because we probably cannot. However, the mists of time add so much to life in the present moment ;).

Leaf bases are bulb onion rings. Basic sort of things, if you want to think of them that way. Shallots and potato onions are "aggregated" and so they do form unions and are not onlies. I wonder what role those Allium cepa played in the diets of the Anglo-Saxon.
