I once went to the power company to deal with a problem my mom was having. My contact was a man who had been rude, loud, disrespectful, and bossy with my mom in the past. In return, I was rude, LOUD, and bossy with him in front of other customers and co-workers.
When I got home, I found that I'd talked to the wrong man. Was I ever embarrassed! I went back to the office and asked to speak to him again where I VERY LOUDLY apologized. He kept quietly suggesting we step into his office to talk. I insisted that since I'd wrongly called him out in public, my apology needed to be just as loud and just as public. A really nice guy after all.
