big red<my truck> was acting up last week so took into the greensboro location where they do engine work, let's see so far.
fuel leak on the fuel filter assembly..repaired
oil leak on the oil cooler...replaced
injector wiring harness's brunt up...waiting on both sides to come in.

got a call today roughly it's going to be 1500.00 couch cough cough really right at christmas...grrrrrr

the employees are allowed to have tires, oil changes..etc deducted from their paychecks over a 8 week period.<nice bennie> for working there...
well called the owner groveled a little bit with him and he will extend the payments to 15 weeks...
told the wife how much it's going to be tight here for those 15 weeks.

we both agree we are blessed to have an employer to help out like he does...... i can truly say about him,...... he one person that walks his talk.

the price is not bad for a 20 year old truck with almost 400k.... at that age something gotta give....

Oh, ouch is right. I just hate car problems.
We haven't had any large repair bills for quite a few years now, (knock on my little wooden head).

Now that I think of it, it's been since we stopped driving Fords.... :D

But I must say in their defense, we always bought used with high mileage, so somebody else got the opportunity to abuse them, and we got them when the repairs were due.

I chose to see it that your truck held together till you could afford to fix. Be much worse if you didn’t have money. Some of my best years-earning-were when kids were in college. Otherwise, not sure how we would have done it.

i keep telling the wife we are lucky that i work at a place that does auto work and able to deduct ..otherwise we would be screwed...

in 20 years have approximately put around 7 grand in mechanical work add in oil changes and tires..etc guessing 10 grand plus..

Back in the day my husband did all the repairs himself. I was usually his scrub nurse, handing him tools, holding a flashlight, steering the vehicle being towed by him, hiding the sledgehammer... haha.

We have a little more slack these days and can usually have the local mechanic do the repairs. Which is fortunate because I told him I quit, he was going to have to find another helper, or be lonely when he's busting his knuckles.
