Okay, I'm intrigued... the woven branch trellis is interesting too! (video set to start partway through so you can see the best part first)

The peas from Seed Savers Exchange should be here Friday! Not sure if I'll try starting any this late or not.

Not a bad idea, Meadow :).

There aren't many things that I don't transplant out. Peas in a long container would make sense. I have an in-the-ground gutter (aka a French drain. It no longer has any use because there has been a gutter on the roof above for several years (altho the bricks at soil level define the edge of the lawn on that side of the house).

It would not supply all the plants that we usually have but we don't direct-sow the seed all at the same time. Transplanting would extend our season, which is often quite short.

Let's hope that 2022 isn't a repeat of 2021 and that we have a longer season! I can't usually leave the vines for later blooming and pods but you might. No seed in the ground yet and no reason here to rush sowing them.

I like the way the gutter peas slide right into the furrow! They did get knocked about quite a bit to get started though.

Last year must have been tough for your garden, @digitS' ! You're normally quite a bit warmer during the summer than we are, so your season is warmer but shorter than ours?

If you've not started your peas yet, maybe it isn't too late for me to start some of those new seeds this weekend. hmmm.

Have you tried Asparagus peas @meadow? I have a wee little packet of seeds I saved from the last time I grew them, and I think I'll use them up this year and see what I get. Flowers on them are so pretty. 🥰
No! I don't think I've ever heard of Asparagus peas! Online photos are lovely! 🤩

The SSE seeds finally arrived and Sutton's Harbinger went right into cups. They've already come up! Very excited to include them in the pea trials this year, and they will be in Garden #2 which means I can save seed from them too! (this needs more exclamation... !!!!!)
