It's coming up to that time of year again
The boss keeps about 4000 head of mother cows. Fortunately, we have some amazing pastureland thanks to the water running off the Steens from constant snowmelt. (They are 10,000’ elevation and often have snow year round)
250K acres?!?!?
How many cattle? I KNOW it takes less than one acre to keep a cow in Illinois, but closer to 50 acres to keep one cow out west.
We don’t have anything The ranch we work for has 250,000 acres…roughly 400 sq mi. Hence, the long drive to town!you have 250,000 acres!? woah...
Those views are breathtakingly beautiful. The boss keeps about 4000 head of mother cows. Fortunately, we have some amazing pastureland thanks to the water running off the Steens from constant snowmelt. (They are 10,000’ elevation and often have snow year round)
I agree, but there are downsides…driving 50 miles down a rutted gravel road before hitting pavement to get to hospital because your mare body slammed you in the rocks while separating calves and broke all your ribs is one…no access to a PT is a big one…I could think of several more but I still couldn’t live in a city.Beautiful pictures! Living there, how could anybody move to a city and live shoulder to shoulder?
I second thatThose views are breathtakingly beautiful.
