Garden Master
my mouth is watering so much from the kimchi pics.
I was drying some persimmon slices last weekend and noticed there is a huge difference in taste between the oblong variety and the round variety. When eaten fresh, the oblong persimmon had the strangest taste of any fruit I've ever eaten! It had a sweet taste at first, but then my mouth felt an overwhelming taste of chalk. It was awful! Then I tasted a fresh round persimmon and it was sweet and delicious! Go figure!Blueberry-Lemon Lattice Pie

It's such an interesting journey, and I do feel that I am learning in a culinary school.
Aww, thank you, so nice of you.from what i can tell you are a natural and so this is just putting some finer touches on things.
These pies reminded me of one of the best pies I ever baked, filled with cranberries and raspberries. I doubt that I ever would have tried this combination were it not for the trust that I had in the cookbook that published the recipe, The Country Fair Cookbook. The flavour was incredible, and the colour absolutely brilliant.Lovely pies!
I love both of them! It's a pity that what we can get here in Germany are Fuyu. I missed Hachiya-type of persimmons so badly. Two of the most popular persimmons are the Fuyu and the Hachiya. The Fuyu is eaten like an apple and is round and squat. Ready to eat almost all of the time.
The Hachiya must become ripe and soft, almost translucent, in order to get rid of the astringent flavor and bad texture. Its MY FAVORITE FRUIT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!
