Mille Crêpes, on our presidential election day - this is moment that I really need faith.
15448.jpg

I also made some decoration pieces with chocolate.
15444.jpg

It turned out to be a lovely cake, I love it.
15445.jpg

Chesnut and adzuki bean are two leading ingredients.

The election went well, too, at least acceptable. So, it's the congratulation cake time!

I should be able to offer delicious cakes in my Café now. :D

Same 'sow-too-late' victim - romanesco broccoli - If I sow them 6 weeks earlier, I should have harvested them. Well, lessons learned...

I will try growing Romanesco broccoli for the first time this year and I get the impression that it will be a tricky crop. When do you plan on sowing your seeds Phaedra? In June?

I guess, this year I will sow several times instead of just once. I might sow them in May, June, and July.

Cake practices are done, then, let's have some bread.

A loaf with two different types of rye flours, and some diced sweet potatoes.

Ham and butter buns - I finally got the idea how to correctly shape them.

Last week, I ordered a too-big cupcake mold, so I used it to make some 'cup-bread' today - with sweet corn and cheese inside.

Finally, the trolley I bought for acting as a cooling rack works very well - the two drawers are ideal and safe places for bread to cool down.

Don't know why, but such 3Euro veggie and fruit bags are more recently. Sometimes, there are more than 10 of them. We brought back three and got about 13kg food.

I cleaned them a bit and put those lettuces with roots in the glass jars. I just can't turn away from these still very good food, and they can offer a lot of nutrients to our family for an entire week, including all feather and fur members.

A small indoor green corner :D

It's an unheated space, about 10C - totally ok for them to re-grow.

More snow and lasting frost is coming, so not much to expect in the garden.
15494.jpg

I sent out some testing samples yesterday and today for chiffon cupcake with fruit and fresh orange whipped cream / cookies with chocolate, oatmeal, and cranberry / and also jewelry cup (combination of different cakes, fruits, and cream). The feedbacks from the testers made me so happy! Well, our family also loves them, so they must be good. :D

Jewelry cup is the best way to carry all kinds of cake trimmings, and fruits+cream which can't be consumed by cake decoration.

15532.jpg

Meanwhile, I also started baking European style bread - delicious is the key, style isn't. With the starter, the finished dough slowly fermented in the fridge for another 16 hours.
15529.jpg

But guess what, the result is so adorable.
15526.jpg

Another two starters are now sitting in the warm living room for their first phase. They will be incorporated into the main doughs in the evening. The Port Wine and Fig one could be baked tomorrow noon time, and the Whole Wheat and Pumpkin Seed one has to stay in the fridge for 24-26 hours.
15534.jpg

What an amazing universe (of bread)!

OOOO, I got a package of Romanesco broccoli for this year, too.
We will have to compare notes.
You Probably have a leg up on ME bc I have never grown broccoli before.
It looks like the Jetsens invented it.
