Most of the recipes call for white vinegar but that is only for looks. I prefer apple cider vinegar; the taste is far better and I can pickles for eating, not looking at. You can get organic apple cider vinegar but white vinegar is made artificially and distilled. I don't think it's avalable in organic form.If you want to try something different without the apple taste try the cane vinegar from the Phillipines. It is clear but cloudy. You can get it in any Asian market. Rice vinegar from China or Japan is another possibility but is usually weaker than other vinegars..
