Cool history link, i just skimmed over it right now but lots of interesting info about this town. The name Columbia Falls is such a funny joke, not the columbia river, and no falls! The Flathead River is coming out of the canyon and heading down south to the Flathead Lake, which is oh, about 30 miles to the photographer's right. and that's Columbia Mountain in front on the right, with Teakettle (mentioned in the history) on the left. It has a much older geology than our other mountains, which accounts for its much shorter stature and lumpy appearance.
