I crossed some Amaryllis many years ago. The peas sized bulbs took many years to grow to full size. I understand that in a warm climate they will bloom in 3 years. Not so, plodding along in my greenhouse. I am glad that I am so tenacious . These were worth waiting for. I have a few blood red doubled Amaryllis with little bits of white for a splash.
Those are special...so pretty!I hybridized somme Amaryllis flowers years ago. The seedlings are grown and now blooming like crazy.. What a great way to get through the cold spring with these blooms in my greenhouse. Everyday something new opens. Maybe not too special, but special to me.View attachment 34673
