It is Violet time again and they are growing like crazy. May have to gather enough for a batch of Violet Jelly.

Tell me about violet jelly! What does it taste like?

I wish I knew about violet jelly last month. The neighbor had a whole field of them. I didn't know what they were, but I thought they were pretty and dug a few up and planted them in a pot.

These were some of my Irises last week. I'm going to have to see if I can get a picture of the Irises that JUST bloomed. They're so dark purple they look BLACK! I LOVE them!

I could not find the thread I had posted a recipe on, but did find this. Yes that is what it looks like and the recipe I use. It tastes sweet, not anything strong. A mild taste. Mostly from the sugar and lemon juice. It is not a large batch and just a pretty color and fun to make.

I just tried getting there with the link posted above. It says not available. Type violet Jelly in the blue box and you can find it.
